398. Stork-billed Kingfisher (Pelargopsis capensis)
Happened to visit a camp site in Agumbe over the weekend. I had no hopes for any bird sighting because it rained incessantly. On Sunday noon, when there was a respite from the downpour, a window of time that couldn't have lasted more than a few minutes, this Stork-billed Kingfisher sat on a perch a few meters from us and called out loudly, as if to say "Don't miss this opportunity".
