Gulakmale

Gulakmale, off Kagglipura, is a little village near the Art of Living ashram. There is a small lake near the village called Hosakere which is a treasure house for birding. We spotted atleast 21 species but managed only three barely-decent pictures.

13. White-browed Bulbul (Pycnonotus luteolus)
Replaced by a picture I took in Masinagudi

14. Ashy Prinia (I could be terribly wrong about this one, because I think this bird was too small to be a prinia. Most of the features, including crucially the color of the iris, match though).
Original picture here.

15. Indian Pond Heron: This bird was intended to be one of my Joker cards, a list that includes crows, kites, mynahs and the rest. I was supposed to save this list for the last sprint when I've run out of options. The fact that I'm using it so early in the game is evidence for my desperation to see progress. The picture is not so great either. Sigh!
(Update: April 22 2014: Replaced with a photo taken in Kanha)
