Kabini - Nov 2012
249. Black-naped Oriole (Oriolus chinensis)
250. Malabar Pied Hornbill (Anthracoceros coronatus): Just after sunset we saw a flock (?) of about a hundred hornbills fly from one patch of the forest over to the patch on the other side of the river.

From my trip to France
These are pics from our road trip in the Normandie and Bretagne regions of France. This was a picture of a Gannet at Les Sept Iles, which by the way is an absolute paradise for bird watchers.
241. Northern Gannet (Morus bassanus)
242. Lesser Black-backed Gull (Larus fuscus)
Almost everywhere we went on this coast, there were gulls and they seemed very comfortable in the company of humans. This one was shot at Etretat.
243.European Herring Gull (Larus argentatus)
This gull was sitting on top of a car in St.Malo and while I got closer and closer, seemed to procrastinate flying away for as late as possible.
244.Great Cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo)
245. Common Starling (Sturnus vulgaris)
At Le Mont St. Michel
246.Atlantic Puffin (Fratercula arctica)
And then the crowd-puller around these parts. It's a pity I couldn't get a good shot of them.

Corbett National Park
71. Asian Paradise Flycatcher (Adult male)
I had shot a sub-adult male in Kabini before. It was a pleasure to capture this adult in his white plumage.
236. Oriental Dollarbird (Eurystomus orientalis)
This one is related to the roller and was a lifer for me.
237. Red Junglefowl (Gallus gallus)
It's a surprise that I did not have a good shot of this very common bird.
238. Chestnut-tailed Starling or Grey-headed Myna (Sturnia malabarica)
Member of the myna family.
239. Paddyfield Pipit (Anthus rufulus)
22. Crested Serpent Eagle (Spilornis cheela)
33. Oriental Magpie Robin - Female (Copsychus saularis)

Galibore - 2012
230. Brown Fish Owl (Bubo zeylonensis)
Definitely the prize catch of this trip. In fact, I'm planning my next trip there just to get a better shot of this girl. Her nest is right by the resort, where I waited nearly an hour for her to show up, but this is the best I could do.
231. Common Hawk-Cuckoo (Hierococcyx varius)
232. River Tern (Sterna aurantia)
Updated with a picture taken in Kabini
233. Blue-winged Leafbird (Chloropsis cochinchinensis)
I hope to get a less noisy picture of this bird some time soon.
234. Grey-headed Fish Eagle (Ichthyophaga ichthyaetus)
Once again, a high-ISO picture taken almost at dusk. Really debated with myself before putting it up here.
(Update: Replaced it with a picture taken at Kanha)
235. Common Flameback or Common Goldenback (Dinopium javanense)

221. Gull-billed Tern (Gelochelidon nilotica)
This one seems to be a non-breeding male.
222. Yellow-wattled Lapwing (Vanellus malabaricus)
While I had captured its cousin the Red-wattled Lapwing multiple times, this one had evaded me so far.
223. Common Spoonbill (Platalea leucorodia)
Unfortunately in this pic, the feature that gives this bird its name is not visible.
224. Green Imperial Pigeon (Ducula aenea)
184. Changeable Hawk Eagle (Nisaetus cirrhatus)
I already have this in the roster, but definitely got a better picture this time.
225. Spotted Redshank (Tringa erythropus)
226. Great Thick-knee (Esacus recurvirostris)
227. Little Stint (Erolia minuta)
