My two-day trip to Florida was surprisingly productive. In the middle of the 10-hr drive we stopped at St.Augustine beach for lunch. These birds were scavenging from the fishermen on a pier.
199. Great-tailed Grackle (Quiscalus mexicanus)
The female
...and the male
200. Ruddy Turnstone (Arenaria interpres)
Further closer to our destination, a flock of black vultures were circling the carcass of a raccoon.
201. Black Vulture (Coragyps atratus)
202. Red-bellied Woodpecker (Melanerpes carolinus)
This one was a frequent visitor to a bird-feed in my cousin's backyard.
One the first day in Florida we visited Jonathan Dickinson State Park. Canoeing over the Loxahatchee river we spotted these.
203. Osprey (Pandion haliaetus)
204. Green Heron (Butorides virescens)
On the second day we drove to Shark Valley in the Everglades. Amid the stars of Everglades, Alligators, lived some of these beauties.
205. Sandhill Crane (Grus canadensis)
206. Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias)
207. Dusky Moorhen (Gallinula tenebrosa)
208. Anhinga (Anhinga anhinga)
209. American Purple Gallinule (Porphyrio martinica)
210. Tricolored Heron (Egretta tricolor)
